IPL FAQ PDF Print E-mail

Many questions will be answered in our "how to choose an IPL machine" section but here are some frequently asked questions that we get from time to time.

Can anyone buy an IPL system?

Certainly anyone can buy an IPL machine and in most states you need no qualifications whatsoever.  However we will not sell an IPL machine to a person who is unqualified and has not been trained on the safe use of IPL.    In order to get into one of the colleges we use you must have certain segments of the beauty diploma to graduate from the class.   It is possible to do these segments by correspondence classes though and we have put many people through their course in this way.

Is IPL a profitable business?

It is the most profitable segment of the beauty industry that we know of and the demand for IPL is growing daily.

Do you manufacture your Spectrum IPL machines?

We don't manufacture them ourselves in Australia, this would simply push the price of the machine up to European and American levels.  However we do design and specify the specifications for the machines, such as the parts we use, and the quality control of the machines.    The end result is machines that are cost competitive but have the highest possible standards of manufacture and parts.  We source parts for our Spectrum IPL machine from all around the world.

If my machine breaks down how do you repair it?

It is easy to source IPL machines from around the world but when you have technical issues can the distributor repair your machine in a timely fashion ?   We have learned from distributing machines all over Australia since 2003 that you must have system that can easily be repaired.  The modular design of the Spectrum IPL machines make repairs easy and any electrician can perform the task.   The Spectrum's "bullet proof" warranty on spares also means you have the spares on hand in the unfortunate event that your machine breaks down.

Do you offer additional training?

In additon to the college training we offer you as many days as you feel you need in our Noosa salon working with the operator on real clients.    We also train you on the use and maintenance of your machine when we install it in your salon.

We also have an annual training conference for you and your staff once per year.

Is laser superior to IPL ?

Only laser suppliers and salons would say this !   IPL produces the same results and is less painful and much faster than laser.

Why do you offer so many filters (wavelengths) with your machines?

Not everyone is the same so it is an advantage to you to have as many options available to you when you treat clients.   We recommend that you use two different filters on the first treatment so that you can see which is the most effective.  Choosing the right filter can have a dramatic impact on your results.  You will be trained on the effective use of filters by the colleges and by us when we install your machine.

Do you offer marketing assistance ?

We give you flyers, posters and the like in your starter pack.  You also get listed on www.magicskin.com.au for free and this site can be found by potential customers.   We are also on hand to help you in any way we can and within the community of Wear Nothing customers you will find many friendly salon owners who are only too happy to help.

Is the RF function worth it ?

Every study we have read indicates that a combination of IPL + RF leads to better results in hair reduction and photorejuvenation.   Yes - if you can afford it, it is worth it.  It will certainly not give you worse clinical outcomes !
